Applications for the
2022 Coram Civic Community Service Scholarship
are due by March 31, 2022!
The Coram Civic Association, a volunteer organization that is dedicated to the preservation of the history, beauty and spirit of the hamlet of Coram, has established a
$500 Annual Community Service Educational Scholarship.
The Civic Association will award the Community Service Educational Scholarship to a high school student-public or private - who is a resident of Coram (zip 11727), is completing the senior year of
high school, and has demonstated a record of volunteer services within the community. The specific criteria for the scholarship are:
-Resident of the hamlet of Coram (11727)
-High School student in his/her senior year
-Maintained a 2.7 (B- level or 80.0 GPA) or better
-Record of Community Service
-Accepted for enrollment in a post high school formal education program such as college or the career-oriented
Adult Education Programs at BOCES including CTE,
Health, and Literacy.
The deadline for the receipt of the Scholarship Application is March 31, 2022.

Michael Asselta
The Coram Civic Association was very proud to present the 2022 Coram Civic Association Community
Service Scholarship Award to Michael Asselta!
This year's awardee is Michael Asselta of Coram, a Magna Cum Laude student at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip! Michael is shown above receiving the
award certificate and check for $500 from Erma Gluck, president of the Coram Civic Association. Michael has been an honor roll student for his four-years of high school, a member of the Spanish Honor
Society, and active with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Pep Band. Michael is also a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He has been heavily involved with serving the community through
his work with the Boy Scouts (Life Scout status), the Knights of Columbus Squires at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Coram, the League of YES, and his service as a lector and altar server at his
church. Congratulations
Michael!
